From the comments people made on the class feedback we made further changes to both the CD cover and the advert the changes made has been changing the HMV logo and removing the white to give it a more professional look. We removed the hmv dog logo in the top right hand corner to make a slight change and not make an exact replica of the advert, we also added a glow to the Sssssssh in the left hand corner so it has more of a link to the CD cover The changes made to the CD cover was brightening up the words on the back of the CD cover to make them easier to read by uasing the bright colousrs brings more of a connection to the front cover. On the front cover we swapped the artist name and the album name so the artis name stands out and changer the colours around and added a black glow to the artist name so there was a graduation from the colour into the black or visa versa.

evalutaion
1.) In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Our CD cover challenges the stereotypical CD cover by having colour at the front and black and white at the back instead of colour with colour, black and white with black and white or even colour with colour washout. We have used the convention of featuring the artist on the front cover. Also our video challenges forms and conventions because usually the other love interest is always a male not a female and they are always older people not in college going through this even though it happens in real life it is a kind of taboo subject, even when katy perry did her song it was her having fun not going into a serious love relationship.
2.) How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
We used bright colours to make the CD case stand out amoung othe CD, we also used colour on the advert so it fits in with the magazine but we also made the out line harsher so that it stands out. We thought about how it would stand out in a music store among the other CD's or the corner stands so people would stop and possibly buy the album.
3.) What have you learned from you audience feedback?
* What i have learnt from the audience for the music video is that the fonts and texts were quite poor.So we are going to make changer to how the title looks. we are going to experiment and decide which looks the best and insert into the production. Also another way it can be improved is the framing of one of the shots we need to fix it or cut and replace with a different shot. This has told us more editing has to be done to the prodution.
* On the audience feedback we were told that the writing on the CD cover was to dark and blended in with the background to change this we are going to experiment with different colours to see with stand out the most, we were also told that the words on the front cover are plain and dont stand out enough and ther are confused by which is the artist and which is the album name.
* People said they like the fact we used the same person in the music video and on both of the print artfacts because it keeps the consistency of seeing both as you would find with most music artists.
* Another positive feedback in the print artefacts was that they liked the manipulation of colour on the CD from the picture on the right hand side to the painted look on the CD cover

* Another feedback we had was divided between those observing some liked the contrast between the front and back cover to change this we added a black glow around the artist name so it eases more into the colour and looks less harsh.
4.) How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
Planning
For the first part of the planning stages we had create a blog on blogger.com or create a second one off our AS blog. We then Had to add templates this year was different because i took templates of another site and added to my blog, we did some research into the different genres using wikipedia and google. We also uploaded pictures and embedded videos to accompany posts we used sites sucha as metroclub and youtube.
Construction
We filmed the production using mini DV cameras and a tape, we logged and captured using Adobe Final Cut Pro this program allowed us to add effects and transitions to the timeline allowing me to change the image. At first we did not use Live Type 2 to create our title we used the function on Final Cut Pro, but after the audience feedback we used it to create movement in out words, we used the import on Final Cut Pro to insert the mp3 song to add to the timeline and sync the video with the words of the song.
Print Artefacts
We took photos using a 5mp mobile camera, printed the photo onto photopaper and scanned on to the computer to use for the poster and imported into photoshop to edit by changing the lines and sharpening the image. We manipulated the image in photoshop by adding layers and inserting word and logos and using the eraser to remover white from around some logos and manipulating some words by adding a glow around. On the Cd cover we used both Pages and Photoshop by editing the images on photoshop by changing the tecture of the images and changing the Words and copying and arranging on Pages, we used pictures from the time line to create the CD cover.

Evaluation
We used technology to write up the blog by freeze framing "still images" from our final cut pro production and inserting it into out post to highlight points made in our blog also using blogspot to create and upload our evaluation.

Finished products - before editing
We chose the cartoon effect for the front cover which was inspired by the original CD cover this is also a running theme for most of their other CD covers aswell. We also chose the grey for the back cover beacuse we like the contrast between the light and dark and also it conveys a meaning as mention in a earlier post.
This is our advert for our magazine this will be inside a magazine , e.g the hmv leaflet, fashion magazine, music magazines also like vibe and nme. We need to improve the hmv logo By removing the white and add the price of the cd. Also take some of the harsness out of the picture so it is more soft to match its surrounding and add the picture copyright and brighten up the SSSHHHHH in the left hand corner.

Final Proposal for CD cover and Advert
CD cover
Use screen grabs from the music video for the front and back cover. The front cover will be colour with bold bright writing may have an effect on it to look like a painting. The image for this could be the lips or a scene filmed in the snow. The back will be black and white with and effect on it, either a sketch or a grain. The images that could be used is the walking towards the water, water rippling or the pulling away of the hands. We chose it to be like this because it is like what the girl is feeling split between the two ones is making her happy (front with bright colours) i think the side view of her in the snow is the best because she looks vunerable and the (back) her sad and upset. the image with her walking away is the best because there is sunlight in the picture which shows there is hope and possible happiness even though it is breaking through the dark mood.

Advert
Using the HMV duffy advert layout. but with colour instead to match the CD cover and use a image featured in the music video in the clip with the array of photos, the image best suited is the one where she looks as if she is thinking about something.

CD cover
For the CD cover we are thinking of using lips and maybe a screen grab of part of the music video or a picture used in the music video for the back. for the inside of the CD case we will use shot fifteen with the scattered photos so when you lay the CD case down on the desk it is like you see the scene when she is looking at the photos.
Another ideas to turn the lips into a flower in the front cover by repeating the lips and have them coming from the center for the back of the case a photo of a mic using the wire to create a heart on the stage and for the inside a persons mouth with there fingers to there lips saying sshh.
Another idea is to have the performer in black and white styled (a bit like Cheryl Cole's album) with red lips but in black and white and for the back a different pose with fingers to the lips saying sshh. for the inside use the picture of the to girls walking away holding hands.
Another idea is to use the same front cover idea as above but have a picture featured in the music videos as the background looking like we are viewing it through the glass.
Another idea is to use screen grabs from the shots of the music video filmed out
doors with the artist posing in different ways on all the front cover surface.
This is one of our early ideas we used images from the Internet a manipulated the front cover to look like pop art using distorting the image and highlighting the red lips and placing the album title and and artist name around. we blured the image on the back and placed the barcode, copyright and record company on the back along with the tracklist. We felt the cover was to plain and did not go with the song if we chose a different genre of music them maybe it would have worked better.

Advert
I like this advert because the use of her make up and hair standing out. i like the use of graffiti for the words giving it an edgy look and making it different and stand out from the conventional posters. It does not give much information about the CD except the month there is no information about where you can get it from. Despite not giving much information it creates a buzz of people wondering and want to search for it. The way she is looking directly at the camera makes you feel like she is looking at you.
I like this advert because it can be taken straight from the music video and just add the words around the performer. The fact it is a screen grab from the performance and not a staged photograph. It is in the moment seeing the artist do there thing.
i like the style of this advert. the hmv logo stands out amongst the black and white. I like how effective the black and white creates a mood. it also follows how our CD cover is with black and white and color. this could be seen in a music or fashion magazine because the picture looks like a editorial picture, the main focus is always on the artist because that is the whole background.
